We have been in the new house for exactly 3 weeks on this coming Saturday. So I thought I show you around a couple of rooms that we've made a lot of progress on.
Thanks to the furniture that my mother-in-law didn't have room for in her new house. My family room is finished except I still need to put my quote on the wall above the piano again. You remember my quote right?
Now moving on to the other side of that wall into the upstairs family room. I even have some Halloween Decorations up. Aren't you proud of me?
The animals have made themselves right at home.
Moving downstairs now. First is the Kitchenette right off of the Family Room. I have four heavy cardboard place mats, with lighthouses painted on them, that want to hang above the sink. But I haven't figured out how to keep them up there yet. I'm thinking velcro.
My kids favorite part is the little fridge. Not that I let them keep anything in it.
Here is the Family Room. We spend a LOT of time in here.
Isn't my new (well new to me, not new) entertainment center a niffty little solution to "not enough book cases"?
We especially use the part that we use as the School Room a lot. We have plans to put an American Flag over the fireplace, but I haven't tea stained it yet. (Then the pledge will be a part of everyday school.)
You know that closet under stair cases? Well it makes an excellent Home School Curriculum Closet! We still need a picture or two put we are getting there.
Just off of the school area is our game room. And I have all of MBC's model cars he's collected over the years out and displayed. Now since I'm all about trying to be honest, I should let you know that the whole house isn't put together yet. The rest of the game room for example is still too full of boxes to really play any games in.
And even though I have had the play room unpacked and looking great TWICE. It looks like this now.
They look a little guilty to me, don't they to you?
Well I hope you enjoyed your little tour of this much of the house. I'm sure I'll show more in the future. For now I'm off to grade a math test. Have a great day.
*hugs*

It looks so nice! I am so happy for you!
I like your new signature.
sigh. A woman's work is never done.
Oh, how exciting! You ARE making progress. And really, toys are to be played with. And then put away. They are in play mode.
I see you've got a mysignature? now! Cool. There's a way to get the border off, if that's what you want. But it will take all the borders off your blog.
Oooo, lucky you! So much wonderful room, and beautiful furniture to boot. Congratulations on your new home, hoping you have many happy years there!
xoxo,
Mary
Hi sweet Shimmy! Oh, I'm loving your new home and you're getting it all fixed up. That's kinda of the joy of it isn't it?
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
It looks beautiful, and I must say I'm a little jealous of all that space.
Wow, I love the way your house is looking. (Not that I know you or have seen it before) but, I came across your blog -- and wanted to say Hi!!
And boy is that true that a Mother work is never done. It's probably the one "job" that you really can't get a vacation from. Your interests, and personality seem to be similar to mine (Notice I said similar but not exactly the same) which is great for having variety in opinions.
Keep up your good work. I wish I had the patience to Home School. I wish I was organized enough to do it.
Let me get this straight: you have THREE family rooms? and how many bedrooms? this is a BIG house! good thing you have the family to fill it! I wish you much health and happiness there! It's looking terrific!
HUGE HOUSE you got there!!!!!
it is looking GREAT Shimmy Mom!!!!
and yes
i have to agree... they DO look a little guilty! :)
Hey, Sweet Shimmy! Thanks for popping in to see me today and yes, so many need our prayers. Thank you.
Be a sweetie,

Heatheranne, your house is awesome!! I love it! How fun for you. By the way, I make vinyl lettering, if you want your quote done in vinyl, i'll do it for you. It's a great quote!!
Managing mamma, I tried to email you back but I don't think it worked. My email is shimmywith4@yahoo.com Email me and we can talk.
I like you blog and yes, your little girl is ADORABLE!
So good to see you again. It's been a LONG time.
*hugs*
I'm amazed. You keep blogging. You were grading a math test. You have a large portion of the house unpacked, and YOU HAVE HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS UP! I don't have Halloween decorations up! OK, I've not been home in October without guests, but I COULD HAVE/SHOULD HAVE tried to do it before the guests arrived. Just amazing.
Now I have seen your basement.. I hadn't the other night. ;)
